Dr Dunay – Audiologist
Born and raised in Pretoria, South Africa, Dr Dunay’s journey into audiology began long before she realised it. As a five-year-old, Dr Dunay recalls earnestly helping her best friend pronounce the letter s after an unfortunate tumble claimed her two front teeth, an early sign of her lifelong passion for communication and connection.
Trained as both a speech therapist and audiologist, Dr Dunay has spent her career at the crossroads of science and human experience, where “the measurable and the mysterious meet.” Having practiced in multiple countries, Dr Dunay ultimately chose to focus on audiology, drawn to its unique blend of precision, empathy, and the profound impact it has on people’s lives. Quoting one of her favourite thinkers, Ludwig von Wittgenstein, she believes that “the limits of my language are the limits of my world,” and sees hearing and listening as essential to that limitless world.
At Cotton Tree Audiology, Dr Dunay serves as both a clinician and the office staff member in charge of morale, bringing her warmth and sense of humour to every interaction. She finds deep fulfilment in working alongside a dedicated team and supporting clients who take the brave and rewarding step to improve their hearing, communication, and tinnitus management.
Outside the clinic, you’ll find Dr Dunay walking along the beach with her dogs, running, reading poetry from real paper journals, and in her own words “thinking.”
